FAQs
How do we begin?
Please use the contact form to make an initial enquiry or to ask any questions that you may have. Alternatively, you can send me an email at hello@ellieharland.com. In the first instance we will arrange a free, no obligation 15-minute telephone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to discuss your enquiry and whether I am the best person to support you. Following this, an assessment session will be booked in.
What happens in an assessment?
The assessment session(s) will focus on getting to know each other, exploring what brings you to therapy and understanding your hopes for therapy. We will discuss how your needs can best be met and what therapeutic approach will be most suitable for you. If we agree that it would be helpful to work together, we will discuss arrangements for ongoing sessions.
How many sessions will I have?
I offer brief, open ended and long-term therapy. The duration of therapy will depend on your particular needs and expectations. This will be discussed during the assessment session(s) and reviewed throughout therapy.
Where will therapy take place?
I offer therapy online. I also offer face-to-face therapy in Clapham, South London.
Sessions and Fees:
Sessions are offered on a weekly basis and are 50 minutes in duration. I offer a simple fee structure that is the same for adults, children, and young people. Payment is due prior to each session via bank transfer.
Will what we talk about be confidential?
My professional and legal duty is to always respect and protect the confidentiality of clients. However, in some circumstances—such as a situation where I might be concerned that you, or someone else is at risk of serious harm—it may be necessary to disclose confidential information. In this type of situation, I would endeavour to discuss this with you in advance.
Regarding record keeping, all personal information is held securely to ensure confidentiality in line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) legislation and the Information Commissioning Office (ICO).
What if I miss or cancel my appointment?
If you cancel your session 48 hours in advance there is no fee, and I will endeavour to rearrange the appointment where possible. Unfortunately, any appointments cancelled within 48 hours of your session, or any sessions which are not attended, will be charged at the full session fee.
